Google started rolling out Android 17 QPR2 Beta 7.1 to Pixel devices on October 16, 2026, according to 9to5Google. It arrives one week after the previous beta and carries just one fix, but it is an important one for testers: severe interface stuttering and freezes that could last several seconds. Google tracks the problem as issue 571186734 in its public bug tracker. The build number is CP41.260831.019.
System images are available for a long list of devices, from the Pixel 6a and Pixel 7 family through the Pixel 10 series and the new Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. The Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold and the Android Emulator are covered too. People enrolled in the Android Beta Program receive the update over the air. Testers who run into problems can report them through the Android Beta Feedback app on their phone. Google also noted that people on the earlier QPR2 Beta 6 who did not want to move to QPR3 testing were eventually offered Beta 7 as an on-device update.
Why it matters
Developers and testers on the Pixel beta get a usable phone back, which makes it easier to test apps against the next Android release.
