OMRON and OnLogic said on October 13, 2026 that they have a definitive agreement for OMRON to acquire all of OnLogic. OMRON makes industrial automation and control equipment. OnLogic makes rugged and industrial computers used at the edge of a network, close to machines rather than in a distant data center. Both companies describe the deal as a growth investment in OMRON's industrial automation business, and as a way to add customer relationships in the Americas and Europe, including industries where OMRON wants more of a footprint.
OnLogic is not being renamed on day one. The announcement says it will keep running as its own business inside the OMRON group, with headquarters in South Burlington, Vermont, its current offices, its brand, and its direct sales model. CEO Sean Larkin and the present management team are expected to stay and handle day-to-day operations. Closing is aimed at around January 2027 and still depends on regulatory approval, so the companies are announcing an agreement, not a completed merger.
Why it matters
Industrial automation vendors are buying the computers that sit next to the machines, not only the control software.
