Figure says its humanoid robot walked 348 miles over nine days on a treadmill

Figure AI chief executive Brett Adcock posted on October 19, 2026 that the company's Figure 03 humanoid robot had crossed nine straight days walking on a treadmill, covering 348 miles and about 1.2 million steps. He said the run started as a side project to stress the robot and surface any hardware failures, and that the team wanted to see how long it could keep going.

The time-lapse Adcock shared shows the robot striding on a treadmill inside a test facility with a power cable attached. Figure 03 is the company's third-generation humanoid, built for home and commercial work, with cameras that run at higher frame rates and lower latency than before, palm cameras, and touch sensors sensitive enough to feel forces as small as three grams. It also supports wireless charging through coils in its feet.

As Interesting Engineering noted, the post leaves open whether one robot did the entire run and how charging was handled during the test. Figure has pushed long demonstrations before, including a roughly 200-hour package-sorting livestream earlier in 2026 that rotated multiple robots through shifts. The treadmill test instead measures how a single platform holds up under constant, repetitive motion, the kind of endurance humanoids need for real factory or warehouse shifts.

Why it matters

Reliability over long shifts, not one-off demos, is what decides whether humanoids can actually replace or help human workers, so endurance tests like this are a useful public signal.
