Agility Robotics announced that its next-generation humanoid robot, Digit 5, will standardize its onboard compute on NVIDIA IGX Thor modules, making NVIDIA the exclusive onboard compute provider for the robot's general-availability version. The move builds on an earlier collaboration between the two companies around NVIDIA's Halos safety platform.

As part of the expanded partnership, Agility is integrating IGX Thor and additional Halos models into its own safe human-detection system for Digit, aiming to expand the robot's perception capabilities and support its ongoing certification process. Agility will also take part in the NVIDIA Halos AI Systems Inspection Lab, which evaluates safety-related software, AI components, and cybersecurity protections ahead of third-party certification.

Agility says early access to Digit 5 is expected to begin in the first half of 2027, with availability expanding over the following six to nine months for manufacturing, warehouse, and distribution customers. Separately, Agility is preparing to become a public company through a previously announced merger with Churchill Capital Corp XI, expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, after which it would trade on Nasdaq under the ticker AGLT.

Why it matters

Consolidating onboard compute and safety certification onto one chip platform is a concrete step toward humanoid robots that can be deployed at commercial scale in warehouses and factories.
