Moonshot AI's Kimi assistant has introduced a feature called 3D Make, which connects Kimi to tools such as Blender and CAD software to create 3D models, assemble scenes, and build games directly from chat. The company announced it with a 74-second demo video and says the feature is available now on kimi.ai and Kimi Work.

Kimi's own site describes the broader assistant as built for coding and agentic work, positioning 3D Make alongside existing capabilities like coding projects and financial research. The source material doesn't specify which underlying model powers the new feature.

The announcement came a day after Kimi said it now connects to Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Calendar through OAuth access that users control, continuing a pattern of Kimi expanding the tools and services it can operate on a user's behalf.

Why it matters

It's another sign that chat assistants are moving from text generation toward directly operating specialized creative and engineering software.
